The first challenge in turning Brittany's sculpture into a t-shirt was having our partner and awesome photographer Kevin Seifert (of rtp.studio) shoot high resolution pictures. You see Martin and his brother Drew's arms holding Daybreak in front of a white background. Kevin knew we could Photoshop out Martin and Drew's hands. He also knew that the sculpture's intricacies would be captured properly lit, though still shot outside.
Big files bring lots of detail (good) and require substantial computer power and expertise to manipulate and edit (less good). We spent more than twenty hours working and reworking our file to create a printable design. You can see why. Daybreak has a lot of fine detail going in every direction. We also had to recreate section of the artwork lost in the grass (or behind hands holding the piece up).
Printing a proof is where the rubber meets the client's road in screen printing. It's the moment when all of Audacious Printing's revisions and hard work become physical realities. This critical step ensures that the final product meets the client's expectations, showcasing the precision and quality of their craftsmanship before full production begins.
cancerART is a community of artists we're helping to create sustainable online brands, and they are helping me and other cancer survivors by donating to cancer research. For cancerART to be viable we needed an amazing heroic printer. Finding Becka and Mike and seeing how they transformed Brittany Søndberg's Daybreak into a t-shirt was inspirational. Their skills, expertise, and knowledge makes my business possible.
